Public Art, Private Passion: The Story Behind Farmington’s New Sculptures

Downtown Farmington has a new kind of charm. Walk along Main Street today and you’ll discover more than just a beautifully remodeled corridor—you’ll find works of art inviting you to slow down, look closer, and appreciate the creativity that shapes our community.

The addition of sculptures to historic downtown Farmington didn’t happen by accident. It was the result of passionate local advocates who believe that art belongs in the heart of the city—where everyone can enjoy it. This vision came to life thanks to collaboration between the City of Farmington, local artists, and dedicated community members, including Tom and Bev Taylor and the team at Artifacts 302.

“It’s so exciting to see this come to fruition after more than a year of planning,” says Bev Taylor, co-owner of Artifacts 302. “Now, having these sculptures in place for the last two years, it’s incredible to see how much they’ve become a part of our community’s daily life.”

A recent article by The Journal highlighted the latest installations and the growing impact of public art downtown. You can read the full story here: New sculptures installed in historic downtown Farmington.

From whimsical bronze figures to striking contemporary designs, each sculpture adds a new layer to the downtown experience. They’re not just art pieces—they’re conversation starters, photo opportunities, and a visible reminder that Farmington is a place where creativity thrives.

A Community Effort, A Lasting Impact
